6/1/2014 - A Fond Farewell to a Friend

James Seta makes a brief announcement over dinner.

" I just want everybody to know I am stepping down as Beta of Falling Waters to join the folks who are trying to get The Sept of the Long Watch off the ground.  I may be back if I am satisfied that the folks there are ready to stand on their own, but it may be some years before I return.  You are my friends, I have fought alongside you, and we have all buried friends here.  This will always be the place of my heart. "

" If any wish to challenge me for Beta of Falling Waters, they have until I finish my steak, after that the matter is in the hands of my brother and the Master of Challenges. "

He then begins to eat, then hesitates.

"I have received word from the Alpha, who is currently on his way home, that we are no longer in a formal time of war."

Chris looks up at this. "Well, Seta-rhya, you will be missed. And while I hate to interrupt your dinner, I'm going to have to challenge you as Beta of Falling Waters."

James smiles and shovels the rest of the steak into his mouth.

" Good, I accept. Go find the Master of Challenges to oversee and we'll meet on the mound within the hour. "

Chris smiles. "Certainly, Seta-rhya.", he says, taking a last bite of his own meal, before he stands up to either hunt down the Master, or look across the table at him if he's there.

He would be present, a notebook in hand that he had been working through for some time now. He would hear the words before rising and heading to the mound.
