| *A wolf howl if heard in the Umbral Bawn*
"I am known to the Nation as Visions of Phoebe. Athro of the mystic moon and child of Owl. I am here by invite of Elder Seta. I ask permission for myself and my kinfolk to enter"
( Visions is in Lupus form and looks very much like a black jackal. Silent Strider PB4; and his wolf kinfolk similar. )

| Ice spirits flit to and fry, paying the new Garou little mind. The mists of the Falls soar up to towards the umbral sky.

| "Wow, Warder, way to botch that one."
There's a small, dark woman dressed in a black hoodie, black tights, a grey plaid skirt and combat boots. She's holding a bow in her left hand and her other hand flits about a quiver of arrows.
"No disrespect or nothing, sir, but there are pleasantries we have to dispense with before we waltz you in to see the Alpha. The Frozen Queen is a harsh and unforgiving totem, and she abides no taint in her caern. To enter her territory with the touch of the Wyrm on you is instant, messy death."
The woman smiles. It's only mostly mirthless.
"I'll have to ask you and your kin to have a Rite of Cleansing performed on you before you enter. Y'know, Warder business, protocol and all that shit. In the meantime, I will be happy to inform Elder Seta of your visitation. Y'know, so he can come and greet you. Properly."
She looks to Judges Harshly. "You can do that, right? Rite of Cleansing? Or do I have to get someone?" She looks over to the Lupus. "Don't go anywhere, sir. Messy death. I mean it. As in, ice crystals frag every single one of your cells. Not pretty. Kind of painful."
And she's gone, back into the shadows.

| *the jackal looking wolf looks between the two; and well, before be can talk, one of them is gone*
"I have just arrived from Alaska, from the Cearn of the Banished Star; and a month long wyrm fight. If you care for the tale, I would gladly share it later. But Wendigo himself is also not a fan of wyrm taint; we are both as clean as pure ice. But if it is protocol, I would not be opposed for you to do your job.
As for Elder Seta; I hear his, well, old. He does not have to come all the way here if he doesn't want to; I'm sure he's done more than his share of walking in this life already."
*he looks around at the ice spirits*
"are they normally here?"

Yes, the Ice Spirits are normal this time of year and I would greatly love to hear a story about that particulair Caern. We have two ways into the Caern one requires a story and yes a cleansing the other is a bit longer but does not require a leap of faith.
If you would care to follow me I can lead you in by the slower but safer route, once you understand what the other method is and what it entails you can choose to use that method of entrance. Is your Kinfolk here or should I send someone to lead them on the otherside of the Velvet Curtain?

| As Dietrich is once again offering to forego the Rite of Cleansing, another Lupus lopes up, his markings similar but less distinct than the visitor's (PB 2 Silent Strider).
When he arrives he approaches the visitor directly without preamble. He lowers his head formally and shows his throat.

| *Visions motions to Dietrich and looks behind himself*
"My kin is with me right behind. As a mystic and a wondered, I have the ability to take my kin across the Curtain myself; but I do appreciate the offer. As for the tale, I would share it gladly after my meeting with your Sept Alpha; does this sept do camp fires; oh, likely not fires in an ice cearn; well, you know what you mean. Is there a time and place for storytelling around here?"
*He then sees the newcomer*
"ah, Walks in Shadow-yuf." *he sniffs you for a moment* "it is good to meet you too blood of my blood.
Now that I think of it; could be a good idea for you to come with me to see Elder Seta."
*he looks at both*
"if there is any protocol, cleansing or otherwise, which I must meet before entering, I would ask we please get it done; I would like to try to get to speak to Elder Seta before his next nap time."

He turns and darts off, moving quickly as only Striders can. <"One will return shortly."> he adds, over his shoulder.

| "If you say so, Warder,." The small, dark woman is back, though it's unclear whether or not she actually left, being in the same spot with no discernible changes.
"Elder Seta has been informed of your arrival," she says to the newcomer. "I'm a little touchy about people I don't know. See, the last werewolf that came to the sept and was let in without further preamble turned out to be ripping out the hearts of caerns with namebreakers and Spirals and happened to behead my little brother with a klaive. Now I trust, but verify. And part of verifying is waiting in a secured location for the Alpha, or someone I trust to give the okay that you're actually here on Strider things and not just looking to behead another member of my family." Her cheery, rapid-fire speech and bright smile completely belie the tension with which she runs her thumb over the stave of her bow.
"If you like, I can have some coffee sent up, or we could start a fire. The Frozen Queen loves her ice. I could tell you the story about the time she was irked at a Shadow Lord and turned his stomach acid and all the vodka in his belly to slush and he threw up snow cones for an hour and a half. Ooh! Or I could tell you the one about ol' Dietrich here - how he got the fancy thing over his eye by viking it up with a bunch of Fenrir. It has all the good Fenrir elements: beer, blond women, lots of shouting, some fumbled pickup lines. You'd love it!"
Her bright eyes twinkle in the light of the icy mist that hangs like diamonds all around the area. Though she seems merry, her body posture speaks for itself.

| *Looks towards the reappearing woman*
"your tale is touching, and I can certainly see the concern. But the Warden has given me passage into the Cearn. If you stop, that is a challenge against the Warden and his word. I'm sure your Master of Challenges would love to hear about it."
*looks towards the Warden*
"if you would lead the way"

| "Yeah, okay, this again." She makes a V with her fingers, points it at the Athro, then her face, then back to the Athro. She then repeats the gesture with Dietrich. "Call it professional courtesy. I'm all about the professional courtesy."
Some Garou have this crazy way of not being seen even if you think they were there just moments before. She's probably using this fabled power right now as a rather strong exit to the conversation.

| "it's not professional courtesy; it's the way of our society, the litany and how we have been for ages. If you disagree with somebody and it's not times of war, you challenge them. If you do not, then you accept their word as it is.
You are not a cub, you should know this by now."

"thank you"

| After a few moments, a Silent Strider (presumably the same one, based on the Pure Breed) shows back up, this time in Chrinos form. He is holding a flask full of pure water.
"I'm back. Thank you for waiting, Athro. I have the materials for your cleansing now, if you're prepared?"

| The Fostern shrugs. "It seems to be the thing to do. You've traveled far, there is no need to risk yourself."
With that, the Theurge sets about performing the Cleansing. He chants softly to the Spirits as he sprinkles the Athro with water. He prays for Gaia to cleanse the Taint of a long and dangerous road from his cousin.

...and so the Visitor is cleansed. As he wraps up the ritual, Shadow nods deferentially to his superior.
"I would be Honored to take you to Alpha Seta at your leisure, Visions of Phoebe -Rhya. You have arrived at a very opportune moment, though I'm sure you already know that."

| Shadow simply shrugs, looking to Dietrich. "I might as well show him to Edgar-Rhya's office, since I've been asked to sit in on the meeting anyway. It would also be nice to have a moment to address my cousin in private. Do you mind if I show him in?" | |

| From somewhat nearer then the howl a few minutes prior, you hear a yip. It conveys curiosity but also a clear sense that who ever it is wants to approach but doesn't want to startle anyone. No sound or smell, however, can be caught from that direction. | |
