Miguel, who is looking a bit rough around the edges and harrowed, waits until a few garou are gathered. His wound, a burn that looks like crossed blade wounds, stands out on the left side of his jaw. The wounds contrast starkly white on his olive-brown skin.
He stands up and speaks:
"At the behest of His Majesty, Victor Dawncrown,King of House Wyrmfoe and
Elder of the First Tribe, Falcon's Talon born of Woman and Alpha of the Sept of the Eagle's Talons and the Excelsior Pack both, I will speak this message.
'To all Septs of the Garou Nation,
Through the machinations of the Enemy one who was once a hero to our people, who bore the Silver Crown has become a traitor. I will not speak his name, I will not do him that honor. His fate will be determined and dealt with by those leaders of the Nation as a whole once we have learned all we can. But what is important is the following.
Since his supposed death years past, the traitor has moved from Sept to Sept, gathering information on defenses, numbers, leaders, and strength. He went under many names and faces, shielded by various means. While there are certainly many he did not visit, or which have changed a great deal since he was there the danger to our sacred sites and homes is great.
This information has been passed to agents of the Enemy, supposedly in a mad desire to cull the weak from our Nation and make us stronger. How far it has spread is unknown, but we must take the stance that many of our secrets are compromised. We must make changes where possible, and reinforce what we can. We've got to prepare for the inevitable attacks, even more than we already do. But we also can't let this betrayal overwhelm us. Or undermine what we've achieved. Harano is a danger we all must face and push aside. There is nothing futile about our actions. Or about the struggle we face.
Right now our Enemy is licking its wounds. I'll leave it to the Singers to tell of how the powerful Terminus was defeated, how packs of Spirals, Pentex Agents, Minotaur's followers, and others were overcome, and how a legend of the Wyrmhowlers had to be taken from the field before the might of the assembled Nation could end her. Atlanta is safe, it's locals stood tall when called on, those who came to help proved how much we can accomplish when we work together.
But there is much more to do now.
The leadership of all the Tribes will be speaking to determine our course. The Enemy has put its pieces on the board. Nightmaster, Garou traitors, Skindancers, Zmei, Wyrmhowlers...there are faces to them all. We need to gather as much information as we can; names, and locations, and means to destroy or bind or purify each. But what we aren't going to do is rush off and scatter our strength. We are going to hunt, and kill, and cleanse the Mother of those who would harm her, and we will do it as the greatest pack that has ever been. Now more than ever we need one another, to defeat these enemies, to secure our homes, to protect our Kin, and to fulfill our duty to the Mother. We've seen what we can achieve time and again when we work together.
In the meanwhile, take what precautions you are able. Review your defenses, teach your cubs the lessons we've learned, strengthen your alliances with those who fought beside you against the Enemy- no matter where they are from or what Tribe they call their own.
Dying for the Nation is to be respected, we all know this. But I call for every one of us to live gloriously for it. To live honorably in our judgements and actions towards one another. To live the wisdom of our ancestor's deeds and not just memorize them. We will need every one of us for the days to come.
