A Return to the Sept

Raena stands on what used to be the bawn on the umbral side, staring over the falls. Her eyes are wide, as she realized something is terribly awry.

"How do I get in now?" she asks aloud, as if hoping someone is around to hear. The girl doesn't have much experience with spirits, or she would try to ask one of them if there is another entrance to the former caern.

The Guardian Pack...doesn't show up.

That can't be a good sign.

Raena looks around, and the girl shivers inadvertently. She pulls out her phone, dialing her cousin Vinny's number. She doesn't know anyone else at the local sept.

Vinny will come by eventually, notified of Raena's presence by the spirits nearby.

"The caern is gone, cousin. We are clearing out the site now, but this is no longer our home."

Her eyes widen at that, a mixture of shock and horror. "What happened? I was only gone for a weekend, and..."

"Anthelios arrived, coming to destroy us. The retired Rite Master told us of a weapon, and while it was successful in banishing our foe, it cost us the life of the caern. Erikson tells the story better than I."

"Now," he says with a pause, "Now we regroup."
