3/9/2014 - 12:30am Hall of Assembly - A meeting of the Elder Council

Adam King, in the guise of a dark grey wolf, pads into the Hall of Assembly after issuing a call for a meeting of the Elder Council at around midnight on the night of 3/8/2014. He finds a seat using his nose, and once there shifts to Homid and takes a seat, waiting for the others to arrive.

Clearwater enters at about the same time, still looking fatigued and haunted.

Artie is slightly behind them both, on a cell phone to the rest of her pack.  "Elder Council Meeting... probably... well you need to come because I'm the BETA.   Chris, we've had this discussion... *sigh*

She puts the phone away, finds a chair near (but not next to) Adam, and leans her bow up against the chair leg.

Hearing the end of the conversation, Adam turns to Artie.

"This is going to be a closed meeting, unless the others want to open it up to the Sept. The only people here should be the five elders, the two witnesses, and the warder."

"If the sept is in danger, the sept needs to hear about it.  Even if it is a closed meeting, we're going to need to act on this as soon as we're done talking.  Either way, I want them in the caern.  If Flux doesn't already live here, maybe it's a good idea to get them here, too."

Adam nods. "Reasonable. I think the rest of the pack has been staying at the Caern lately. I've found it too difficult to move between the Caern and my house. I'll let them know to stay around though. Good point."

:Plodding into the room, his head held low, Cameahwait finds a spot in the room and lays down on the floor:

Jason enters carrying a large bucket of water with a clip fan blowing into it and he seems to be pouring sea salt into it.

Adam looks up, but of course sees nothing.

"Who is that?" He asks the room. "Has the Alpha arrived?"

For the moment, Clearwater finds a seat and tilts his head back, closing his eyes and waiting.

The Alpha enters and takes a seat.

"James is away on business. So is Walker. We will need sometime to speak for the Theurges. "

Adam nods.

"I'll get Jimmy in here."

"One moment, adam, could you do me the favor of asking the sea breeze spirit that i hope i got to come along to repeat his message to me to the alpha?"

Adam shrugs.

"I've already asked Jimmy to join us, mindspeak being instantaneous and all, but sure."

In spirit speech, he says to the room at large (since he can't see the spirit).

<<"Honorable Spirit of the breeze over the sea, Jason Magda requests that you repeat the message you delivered to him aloud here, so we might all hear it. Would you be so kind?">>

The wind blows and relays this message for all:

"My Family I am Alder, called 'Pure-heart-of-Song' a Fostern Theurge born a Metis.

I am sending out this call as a request for advice and possibly aid. This past Saturday a Kin-folk of our tribe came to the Sept of Eagles Talons from a small Sept in Vermont with a story. Her Sept is no more, a little under a month ago the Theurge of their Sept fell bleeding from their eyes and mouth during a ritual. The rest of the Sept investigated the cause and never returned and then the sept totem Dove disappeared. Now I have had some interactions with the local avatar of Dove in my area and attempted to speak with one of the local Spirits of Dove only to have a small and broken creature appear in my hands. No feathers covered the spirits skin nor did it carry much power left. I gave all the strength I could to the spirit in my hands and reached for a toke from Dove that I had been gifted for actions in the past. That token which had been a shining white feather from Dove had become a shadowed husk with barely any power in it at all, with the tokens remaining strength the spirit was stabilized and I was able to learn that here in the North East this small spirit was all that remained of Dove, something of the Wyrm had attacked and drained every Dove spirit in my area except for this last one. At this time I have made a shrine and a nest for the spirit in the Sept of Eagles Talons near the heart of the Caern here. I tell this story as a request for Help, I am still very young and well I am scared I am doing what I can to try to strengthen this spirit with the help of others in my sept. That said Dove is a spirit of Unicorn's Brood and I felt that the tribe as a whole should be aware of what is happening here and to ask for advice and help to fix all of this.

My sept is gearing up to Take on the Wyrm Thing in is Lair soon but I would like the advice of you all on what more I should do to keep this last shard of Dove here in the North East safe. I have made a shrine for Dove and the spirit currently is resting in a Amethyst crystal, not bound just a vessel, and am currently giving the Dove Gnosis daily.

"We are one of the closest septs, i figured it was important for direct words to be spoken." Jason says to the alpha.

To the spirit, "Thank You."

Jason takes the bucket towards the falls.

The Galliard listens to the tale closely and then issues a deep sigh.

"That is most unfortunate. I can't help but wonder if this has anything to do with the Buzzards and the growing corruption in Upstate New York. Cameahwait, is this the tale you wished to deliver? Have you more to add?"

Edgar Seta remains silent, waiting for the tales to conclude.

Clearwater opens his eyes, but looks to Cameahwait first, since his packmate was the one addressed.

::Jogs in, panting a little, Waves::
((on an OOC note Wifi is down at work so my answers will be even more sporadic than usual.))

:Sitting up:

"There is a ape-kin by the name of Sam who was brought back with us, he will have more knowledge of the events of before, but I will share what I do know. A prophetic vision led me to a far distance from here. The actual whereabouts are still a bit of a mystery to me, Clearwater has a better idea of where it was.

The body of Hildi was found in the weaver contraption with her husband Sam. Hildi had given everything in defense of the survivors of the sept of Dove's Tears. Sadly that was not enough as the only survivor left was the ape-kin Sam. Worst off was there were no other bodies, there were no tracks, there was nothing. There was a grand battle that had occurred but nothing remained that could say what or who did this. I assume it is tied in with that which killed the caern, a new weapon as the ape-kin says. I could not sense anything that could have done these horrible deeds. The only knowledge I have is that there was a sound, strange and exotic, almost a bird call of sorts. This and a flock of bats, many in number and enough to block out the sun seemed to almost be chasing us briefly."

:Pausing and looking at Clearwater:

"What other impressions did you get?"

Clearwater closes his eyes, collecting his thoughts.  When he speaks, it's deliberate and concise.

"Cameahwait's visions led us down the Thruway to just outside of Canaan.  The van he had seen was there, parked by the side of the road.  We pulled over and assessed the situation.  Banes were around the van in the Umbra, and the van itself smelled of the Wyrm and magic; we approached with caution.  

I covered Cameahwait while he entered the van.  In the back was the mangled body of a woman; the driver was slumped over the wheel, badly injured.  We healed him and retrieved him and his mate's body, and retreated to my Winnebago.  That was when the bird-calls started up.  We both had a feeling that something seriously bad was closing in, so we high-tailed it out of there; our mission was rescue, not assault.

The Kinfolk, Sam, told us his story.  He was from the Sept of Dove's Tears, and had been present there when Black Spiral Dancers assaulted the caern.  The defense was holding, and they were pushing the Dancers back when the caern...died.  From what he said, one moment it was a caern, and the next, it wasn't.  Whatever was used didn't just kill the totem spirit, but the caern itself.

He took his dying or dead wife and escaped, making it to where we found him.

At this point, I was primarily concerned with avoiding any pursuit.  Sam claimed that the talisman he carried would protect us from detection.  We spotted the flock of bats Cameahwait mentioned, but no other signs of pursuit.  To be sure, I took a roundabout way back, to make sure we weren't being tailed."

He opens his eyes and looks around.  "And that brings us to the moment when we entered the Bawn.  The Dancers have some sort of weapon that can kill caerns, and they're apparently willing to use it."

He pauses, then adds, "If there's anything else we can tell, we'll be glad to do so. Respectfully, though, we should probably both be checked out by the Guardian Pack and undergo a Cleansing, just to be on the safe side; we weren't able to thoroughly evaluate the Wyrm taint on the bus."

" You were already tested when you returned. " The Alpha says knowingly.

" Okay. This seems bad, to put it mildly. Opening the floor, questions, options? "

Adam's jaw goes slack. He is silent for a moment, and then sighs.

"That is bad. I am also now fairly certain that it does connect to the matter of the Buzzards and Upstate New York. I had a vision. The umbra in that area is more dangerous than normal, and something dangerous lurks there. Something that flies. Something from which even the animals hide. Your description of the threat which took out the caern sounds similar. Something immensely dangerous is up there, and it's getting a lot more aggressive."

He turns his blind eyes to the Alpha.

"It seems to be focused away from us at the moment, which is a boon I suppose, but that may make us even more important to this. We may be posed to strike it from behind, Alpha, and that may be your opportunity to devote our forces to a battle of significance."

" Yes.   Okay, first ruling, we will need an Emissary to the Boston Sept to facilitate communications through this crisis.  Volunteers? Either from yourselves or the packs. "

" Other thoughts? "
